- 6 to 8 tart apples
- 3/4 to 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. nutmeg
- pastry for 2 crust 9-inch pie
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- dash of salt
Directions

1Peel, core and slice very thin the apples.

2If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon lemon juice.

3Combine sugar, flour, spices and dash of salt; mix well with apples.

4Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry.

5Fill with apple mixture; dot with butter.

6Adjust top crust, cutting slits for escape of steam; seal.

7Sprinkle with sugar.

8Bake at 400° for 50 minutes or until done.
