- 1 cup brown basmati rice
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil (or vegetable oil)
Directions

1Lightly and carefully rinse the rice, making sure not to break the grains.

2Then add the oil directly to the uncooked rice, coating it.

3Boil the water in a in a medium-sized saucepan.

4When it is reaches a boil, add the rice and bring back to a boil.

5Lower heat to a simmer and cover the pan with a tight fitting lid.

6Cook about 30 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.

7Remove from heat. Fluff very lightly with a fork and allow the cooked rice to rest--uncovered for at least 5 minutes.
