- 1 c. cocoa
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Combine cocoa and boiling water, stirring until smooth; set aside. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar. Beat at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Beat at low speed. Stir in vanilla. Pour into 3 greased cake pans. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
