Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 3/4 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 c. cold water
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening until crumbly.

2Mix in cup, the water, egg and vinegar.

3Combine the two mixtures and mix until all the ingredients are moistened.

4Divide into 5 portions. Wrap each in plastic wrap and chill at least 1/2 hour before rolling out.

5Dough keeps 3 days in the refrigerator or can be frozen.

6Bake pie shells at 400° until golden brown.

7Makes 5 pie shells.
