  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 pt. sour cream
  • 3 c. plain cake flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • grated rind of 1 lemon

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg yolks.

    Add vanilla, lemon rind and salt.

    Blend in sifted dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream.

    Fold in egg whites.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool in pan for 30 minutes.
