- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 3/4 c. milk, scalded
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 7 c. flour, may use part wheat (do not use self-rising)
Directions

1Pour warm water in large bowl and sprinkle with yeast.

2Stir until dissolved.

3Add sugar, salt, shortening and lukewarm milk to the yeast mixture and beat in about 3 cups flour.

4Beat until smooth and falls from spoon in sheets.

5With a spoon and 1 hand, mix in enough flour to make dough that pulls away from sides, leaving only small amount sticking to sides.
