- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. persimmon pulp
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- ??? tsp. ground cloves
Directions

1Cream and combine the first 5 ingredients one at a time, stirring well between each.

2In a second bowl, combine all other ingredients and add it gradually to the first bowl a bit at a time.

3Place dough in a 9 x 5 x 3-inch greased and floured pan and bake in 350° oven for 50 plus minutes.
