Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. persimmon pulp
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ??? tsp. ground cloves

Directions

    Cream and combine the first 5 ingredients one at a time, stirring well between each.

    In a second bowl, combine all other ingredients and add it gradually to the first bowl a bit at a time.

    Place dough in a 9 x 5 x 3-inch greased and floured pan and bake in 350° oven for 50 plus minutes.
