- 4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 2 c. cake flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 6 egg whites (3/4 c.)
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Cream together the butter and shortening.

2Add 1 cup sugar and cream until light.

3Add the extracts.

4Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

5Add alternately with milk to batter.

6Beat egg whites until foamy and add 1/4 cup sugar.

7Beat to soft peak. Fold into batter.

8Turn into greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

9Bake at 350° about 40 minutes or until cake tests done.

10Cool.

11Cut into shapes.
