- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. warm milk
- 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm milk
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cardamom
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp. lemon rind
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
- 4 c. flour
Directions

1Mix the first eight items together with 2 cups flour and beat well with beater.

2Stir in the other 2 cups of flour with the raisins and butter.

3Let raise for about 1/2 hour in warm place until double in size.

4Use tablespoon dipped in hot oil then scoop up spoonful of dough size of small egg and drop into deep frypan containing at least two inches of hot oil.

5Deep-fry for about two minutes.

6When browned on one side, flip over.

7Serve rolled in powdered sugar.
