  • 5/8 cup water warm
  • baking soda
  • 4 cups flour
  • salt
  • 5 7/16 tablespoons lard

Directions

    Place the flour in a bowl with a pinch of baking soda, lard, water, and a pinch of salt. Knead well.

    Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead until the dough is compact.

    Return the dough to the bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

    Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll out each piece with the rolling pin to a round sheet approximately 20 to 25 centimeters in diameter.

    Heat a nonstick pan and cook each flatbread for a few minutes on each side on high heat. While the flatbread is cooking, use a fork to make holes in it and pop any bubbles.
