  • 1 1/2 c. Pace picante sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. Colby cheese, grated
  • 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk, soured with 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Fry meat and drain.

    Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, soda and sugar.

    Add milk, egg and oil, mixing well.

    Add meat, onion, pepper, picante sauce and cheese.

    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 400° for about 20 minutes or until brown.

    Cut into 24 squares.
