  • 20 mirlitons
  • 8 large white onions
  • 7 c. vinegar (white)
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 5 bell peppers
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1/2 Tbsp. cloves

Directions

    Peel and remove seed from mirlitons.

    Cut into bite size pieces. Chop bell peppers and onions. Dissolve salt in enough water to cover vegetables.

    Pour water over vegetables and top with ice. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.
