  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seed
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 lb. fresh okra

Directions

    In 2-quart saucepan, heat water, vinegar, sugar, cloves, salt, cumin seed, celery seed and red pepper to boiling.

    Add okra; boil 3 minutes.

    Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Transfer okra and pickling liquid to jar or container; seal. Refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving.

    This will keep up to 2 weeks refrigerated.
