- 7 lb. peeled cling peaches or other small firm ones
- 4 lb. sugar
- 3 c. vinegar
- pinch of salt
- 3 Tbsp. whole cloves tied in a spice bag
Directions

1Combine sugar, vinegar, salt and spice in a large kettle. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.

2Add a dozen peaches at a time and cook slowly until tender.

3Remove and pack in sterilized jars.

4Continue to cook peaches 12 at a time until all are cooked and packed in jars.

5Boil the remaining syrup over moderate heat for about 15 minutes or until thick as desired.

6Pour over peaches in jars and seal.
