- about 1 1/2 lb. small turnips
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. vinegar
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. yellow food coloring
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
Directions

1Peel turnips.

2Cut crosswise in thin slices, not more than 1/4-inch thick. Mix with salt.

3Let stand 1 hour. Drain

4and rinse thoroughly with water.

5Bring to a boil vinegar, sugar, food coloring and paprika.

6Add turnips and simmer 2 minutes; cool.
