  • 2 turnips (daikon), peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 c. less 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 c. hot water
  • a few drops yellow food color

    Cook items for the sauce until the sugar has melted.

    Cool and add to sliced turnips in a jar.
