  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks 1 inch
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric optional
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala purchased or homemade, see recipe

Directions

    In a pan, heat oil.

    Add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and cloves.

    Let spices sizzle and swell.

    Then add pineapple, sugar, salt and turmeric.

    Let mixture cook for 5-6 minutes.

    Add garam masala and remove from heat.

    Cool before storing.
