  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 (20 oz.) can sliced pineapple in syrup
  • maraschino cherries
  • pecan halves (optional)

Directions

    In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.

    In large mixer bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter with granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
