- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. water
Directions

1Mix together flour and salt.

2Add shortening and cut into flour with fork or pastry blender.

3Add water and mix gently with fork in stirring motion.

4Gather pastry into a ball and place in pie tin.

5With tips of fingers, spread pastry along bottom and sides of pie tin, shaping a high fluted edge.

6Makes 1 (9-inch) pie shell.

7For baked shell, prick with fork deeply and at close intervals on sides and bottom.

8Bake in preheated 450° oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
