- 1 small French bread
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- For Rum Sauce
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup dark rum or 1 cup light rum
Directions

1For Bread Pudding.

2Beat eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla. Add raisins and fruit cocktail, when all ingredients are well blended, dice french bread and add to all the ingredients. Let soak for about 5 minutes, then pour into a 9 inch baking pan and bake 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Serve warm in dessert bowls with warm butter rum sauce.

3For Rum Sauce.

4Melt butter, add rum and sugar, blend well and bring to a boil. This sauce must be served warm.

5It can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated.
