- 5 slices bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
- 3 1/2 c. sliced okra (1 lb.)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 medium green pepper (optional)
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1 (8 3/4 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving half of drippings in skillet.

2Set bacon aside.

3Saute okra and onion in drippings over medium heat 10 minutes.

4Add tomatoes, green pepper and celery; cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5Add corn, salt and pepper; cook an additional 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.

6Sprinkle with bacon.
