Plantation Pecan Pie

- 1/4 c. butter (not margarine)
- 1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 Tbsp. evaporated milk or whipping cream
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. pecans, broken
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Directions

1Cream butter; add sugar gradually, then add syrup and evaporated milk.

2In another bowl add salt to eggs and beat until light.

3Stir well into first mixture; add vanilla and pecans.

4Use 1 cup nuts for halves or 1 1/2 cups if broken into pieces.

5Pour mixture into pie shell.

6Bake in preheated 400° oven for 10 minutes.

7Lower temperature to 350° and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
