Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 eggs
- 12 plums, halved (24 halves)
- sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream sugar and butter.

3Add flour, baking powder and eggs and beat well.

4Spoon batter into a 9-inch spring-form pan.

5Arrange plum halves face down in batter. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice, depending on sweetness of the fruit.

6Sprinkle on cinnamon.

7Bake at 350° for `1 hour.

8Batter will rise and cover plums.

9Remove and cool; refrigerate or freeze, if desired.

10Or, cool to lukewarm and serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

11To serve frozen tortes, defrost and reheat briefly at 300°.
