- 1- 1/2 cup Dried Thick Poha Or Flattened Rice (See Note Below)
- 3 Tablespoons Oil
- 4 Tablespoons Raw Peanuts
- 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds (optional)
- 1/2 Tablespoons Cumin Seeds
- 2 whole Green Chilies, Chopped
- 1 whole Yellow Onion, Chopped
- 1/4 cups Green Peas (thaw If Using Frozen)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 Tablespoons Salt
- 1/4 cups Fresh Coriander Or Cilantro, Chopped
- 1 whole Lemon, Juiced
Directions

1Soak the poha in water for a couple of minutes and then drain it in a colander.

2While draining the poha, heat the oil.

3Add peanuts and fry over medium heat for a minute.

4Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and green chilies.

5Fry until the mustard seeds start spluttering.

6Then add the onion and fry until they start turning golden brown.

7Add the green peas and fry for a couple of minutes.

8Add turmeric, mix well and then add the drained poha.

9Mix everything and fry for 4-5 minutes longer.

10Add a few tablespoons water if poha looks too dry.

11Add the salt, coriander and lemon juice, mix everything and cook for a couple of minutes longer.

12Remove from heat and serve hot.

13Note: Poha is sold in all Indian groceries and most ethnic grocers carry it.

14You can also find brown rice poha in some health food stores.

15It is called flattened rice.
