- 2 2/3 c. coarse cornmeal
- 7 oz. Fontina or Gruyere cheese, thinly sliced
- 5 oz. butter
- salt
Directions

1Bring water to boil, add salt and sprinkle in cornmeal, stirring constantly.

2Cook over low heat for 40 minutes.

3Polenta is cooked when it begins to leave the sides of the saucepan.

4Add cheese and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
