- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 sticks oleo
- 3 c. flour (sift three times)
- 1 small can Carnation milk (add water to make 1 cup)
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla butternut flavoring (McCormick flavoring)
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, cut in half
Directions

1Cream Crisco, oleo and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each time.

3Add flour alternately with milk, ending with flour.

4Add flavoring, nuts and cherries.

5(Cherries should be well drained and rolled in flour.)

6Bake in greased tube pan.

7Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325°.

8Cake should start in cold oven.
