Pop Pop's Turkey Chili

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 12 cups chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 14 lbs ground turkey
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 14 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Heat oil and saute onion, celery, and garlic until onion is golden.

    Add turkey, saute until turkey is no longer pink, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

    Add tomato sauce, chili powder, and cumin and stir.

    Bring to a boil, reduce to low, cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Mix in beans, salt, and pepper (to taste).

    Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
