- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 quarts popped popcorn
Directions

1Keep popcorn warm in 250 degree oven.

2Cook first five ingredients over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.

3Continue cooking without stirring until mixture reaches 270 degrees on a candy thermometer or until a small amount dropped into very cold water separates into hard threads.

4Add vanilla and stir.

5Pour mixture over popped corn, mixing with a fork.

6When cool enough to handle but still quite warm, form into balls.
