- 5 qt. popped corn (unbuttered)
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Keep popcorn hot and crisp in oven (300° to 325°).

2Use candy thermometer.

3Cook sugar, water, salt and corn syrup to very hard ball stage (256°). Add vanilla and vinegar.

4Cook to light crack stage (270°).

5Pour slowly over popcorn.

6Mix well to coat every kernel.

7Press into balls before syrup hardens.

8Use lots of butter on hands as syrup is very hot.

9Makes about 1 dozen balls.
