Ingredients

  • 8 c. freshly popped popcorn, unsalted
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. finely packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. candy coated chocolate pieces
  • 1 c. Spanish peanuts
  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows

    Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside.

    Combine sugar, syrup, water, vinegar and salt in a large saucepan.

    Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture reaches hard ball stage (260°). Remove from heat. Add butter, stirring until butter melts.

    Pour syrup in a thin stream over popcorn, stirring until popcorn is evenly coated.

    Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well.

    Press mixture into a well-greased 6-cup ring mold.

    Cool. Unmold on serving plate.
