- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. shortening (not margarine or butter)
- 1 medium egg
- water
Directions

1Mix salt and flour and cut in shortening until mixed as fine as possible.

2Whip egg with fork in measuring cup.

3Add water to make 1 cup of liquid.

4Add to dry ingredients and mix well to moisten.

5Turn out on floured surface and knead about 10 times. Roll out to approximately 1/4-inch squares and drop into meat broth that is at the boiling stage.

6Takes about 20 minutes to reach that chewy delicious texture that is pot pie.
