Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. chuck roast
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 8 large carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. red cooking wine

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325°.

    Wash roast.

    Place in roast pan.

    Add wine, salt, pepper, garlic and Worcestershire sauce.

    Brush liquid mixture over roast.

    Cover and let set in refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator.

    Peel and slice potatoes and carrots. Wash and slice mushrooms.

    Add to roast pan.

    Dice onion and add to roast.

    Cover and bake in a 325°

    oven from 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.
