Ingredients
- 3 to 4 lb. roast
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 1/3 c. cooking sherry
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. mustard powder
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1/4 tsp. rosemary
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (6 oz.) sliced mushrooms with juice
Directions

1Dredge roast in flour.

2Brown slowly on all sides in hot fat. Season generously with salt and pepper.

3Add onions.

4Mix remaining ingredients except mushrooms and add to roast.

5Cover and cook slowly at 300° for 2 1/2 hours.

6Then add mushrooms. Blend 2 tablespoons flour to thicken gravy.
