  • 3 cans hot water
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 3 slices onion
  • garlic juice to taste
  • vinegar to taste
  • sugar to taste
  • lemon juice to taste
  • salt to taste
  • sour cream
  • garnish of hard-boiled egg, scallions, cucumbers, ham or shrimp

Directions

    Drain beets; chop and put back in liquid.

    Add boiling water and chopped onion.

    Add and season with remaining ingredients. Chill.

    Whisk in some sour cream.

    Fold in garnish.
