Ingredients
- 1 large yeast cake
- 2 c. warm water
- 8 c. mashed potatoes (instant is fine)
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 c. shortening
- 6 beaten eggs
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 5 lb. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast cake in warm water.

2Mix together with potatoes and sugar.

3Let rise 1 hour.

4Add shortening, eggs and salt.

5Beat well.

6Gradually add flour.

7Knead.

8Put in greased pan.

9Let rise until doubled in bulk or let rise overnight.

10Shape into rolls. Place on greased cookie sheet.

11Bake at 350° about 20 minutes until light brown.

12Best served warm with homemade jam.
