- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. lukewarm mashed potatoes
- 6 to 7 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in 3-quart bowl.

2Stir in sugar, salt, shortening, eggs, potatoes and 3 cups flour.

3Beat until smooth.

4Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

5Turn dough onto well floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes).

6Place in greased bowl, turn greased side up and cover tightly.

7Refrigerate at least 8 hours.
