  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. white potatoes, boiled and put through strainer
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 sq. melted chocolate (unsweetened)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Cream the butter and sugar, then add potatoes; beat well.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.

    Add melted chocolate and vanilla; beat well.

    Bake in 3 layers until sides of layers leave pan.
