  • 8 potatoes
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • milk

Directions

    Boil piece of beef.

    When about half done, put in one-half cup of rice.

    When rice is done, take scant teacup flour, one egg, one-half teaspoon baking powder and make soft batter. Drop into broth with a spoon.

    In that put one small onion and about six whole cloves.

    Salt and pepper to taste and cook a few minutes.
