Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. diced potatoes
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 2 sprigs chopped or dried parsley (approximately 1 1/2 Tbsp.)
  • 2 stalks celery and tops
  • 1 to 2 diced carrots
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 moderate size turnip, diced

Directions

    Combine potatoes, onions, parsley, celery, carrots and turnips with salt and water.

    Bring to boil and cook gently until potatoes are tender.

    Cook on simmer, stir frequently and watch closely. Sticks to bottom of pot very easily.

    Make a white sauce.
