Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. minced shallots
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 1/2 c. Grey Poupon Dijon mustard
  • 1 c. shredded cheese (4 oz.)
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 8 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 6 c.)
  • 1/4 c. sliced almonds, toasted

Directions

    In medium saucepan over medium heat, cook shallots in 1 tablespoon butter or margarine until tender.

    Stir in cream, mustard and remaining butter or margarine.

    Simmer for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low; add 1/2 cup shredded cheese and basil, stirring until cheese melts.
