  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring

    Start in cold oven.

    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly.

    Add flour and milk alternately. Mix well.

    Add flavorings.

    Pour in well-greased and floured pan. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.

    Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn onto wire rack to completely cool.
