- 2 sticks margarine
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add one egg at a time, beating well after each addition.

2Add flour and milk, alternating.

3Mix well. Add flavorings and baking powder last.

4Put in a large greased tube pan.

5Line bottom of pan with 2 layers of paper.

6Put in cold oven.

7Cook at 350° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

8Do not open oven door until time is up.

9Let cool before removing from pan.
