- 3 sticks oleo
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 8 eggs
- 3 c. flour, sifted
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Cream together oleo and sugar.

2Beat eggs and cream of tartar. Add these mixtures together, alternating with flour.

3After all ingredients are blended, set mixer at medium speed and beat for 10 minutes.

4Vanilla may be added, however, this cake has enough flavor without it.

5Put batter in a tube pan that has been well-greased and floured.

6Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes in a 300° oven.

7Don't open oven door while cake is baking.
