- 2 3/4 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- flavor to taste
- 1 c. Crisco
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream margarine and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time.

3Add baking powder, flavoring and Crisco.

4Add flour alternately with the milk, starting and ending with flour.

5Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300° to 325°.

6Heat too high causes cake to crack on top.

7Baking too long causes cake to be dry.
