  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tsp. lemon flavoring

    Start with a cold oven.

    Do not preheat oven. Cream margarine, shortening and sugar together.

    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

    Add flour and milk alternately, again mixing well after each addition.

    Add flavorings.

    Pour batter into a well greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
