  • 2 sticks corn oil whipped margarine (room temperature)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 1 c. milk (room temperature)
  • 5 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon

Directions

    Cream margarine, Crisco and sugar.

    Add 1/2 each of the flour and milk.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add flavoring.

    Add remainder of milk and flour.

    Place in well-greased cake pan, dusted with flour.

    Place in cold oven.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour.

    Increase heat to 350° and bake for 1/2 hour.
