- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- dash of salt
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. each: lemon, coconut, almond and vanilla flavoring
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Grease 2 loaf pans.

3Separate eggs. Beat egg whites until fluffy.

4Gradually add 1 cup sugar, then set aside.

5Cream butter, shortening and 2 cups sugar.

6Add egg yolks. Sift flour, salt and baking powder.

7Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, ending with dry ingredients, to cake mixture.

8Add flavorings.

9Fold in egg whites.

10Bake about 1 hour.
