Pretzel Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 2 large Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 c. coarsely crushed pretzels
  • 1/4 c. sugar (scant)
  • 1 stick melted margarine or butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. Cool Whip (medium carton)

Directions

    Combine the first 2 ingredients in saucepan.

    Let come to boil.

    Stir often.

    Set aside to cool.

    Mix the pretzels, 1/4 cup sugar and melted margarine together well.

    Press into a 10 x 6 1/2-inch baking dish.

    Blend cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy.

    Blend in Cool Whip.

    Spread over pretzel mixture.

    Spread first mixture over all.

    Chill several hours.
