- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse salt
Directions

1Dissolve the yeast in warm water.

2Add salt, sugar and flour. Knead the dough until smooth, adding more flour (up to 1 cup) if dough is sticky.

3Divide dough into walnut-size pieces.

4Each child rolls his ball into a 12 to 14-inch rope and shape.

5Brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.

6Let rest on cookie sheet, uncovered, for 15 minutes.

7Bake at 425° for 15 to 18 minutes.
