  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour (approximately)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • kosher (coarse) salt

Directions

    Mix yeast, warm water and sugar until dissolved.

    Stir in salt and flour gradually.

    Dump dough onto breadboard and knead until smooth.

    Shape into pretzels by rolling pieces of dough into long ropes and twist into pretzel shape.

    Place on oiled cookie sheets. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with kosher salt.

    Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
